Boogie Nights (1997) – Marky Mark’s Big Break

Of course, Boogie Nights ended up having some of the most paused moments in movie history. After all, it’s a rated-R comedy-drama set in the 1970s. Upon its release, critics raved about the movie, especially Whalberg’s performance. Up until that point, most only knew him as the rapper, Marky Mark! The movie even features the late Burt Reynolds, who is famous for other iconic films such as the action move White Lightning, released in 1973.

Given its nature, the movie included some inappropriate scenes with Whalberg. However, those scenes didn’t actually include Marky Mark. Director Paul Thomas Anderson was nice enough to hire what’s professionally known as a “body double” for the film.
