American Pie (1999) – The Wonders Of Technology

Of course, as technology became more and more prevalent in our lives, it became more and more prevalent in movies as well. One of the first comedy movies to make full use of the webcam was American Pie. It comedy webcam scene would also become one of the most paused movie moments of all time.

There is one scene in the movie which turned out to be a starting point when it comes to having a discussion about internet in conjunction with privacy. The main character of Jim, played by Jason Biggs, sets up a webcam in his room and then proceeds to observe person in front of the camera without that person’s permission – something which is both uncomfortable and illegal.
