Jaws (1975)

Steven Speilberg’s iconic 1975 movie Jaws had quite an effect on the world. In fact, many marine biologists put the worldwide fear of sharks squarely on the shoulders of this movie. After all, it’s generally considered the first summer blockbuster ever made. That’s quite the title!

As you might imagine, many of the terrifying shark scenes rank among the most paused moments in movie history. However, perhaps none more than the first time you see the shark in explicit detail. Afterward, Cheif Brody delivers his iconic line: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” As the characters learn later on – that’s certainly an understatement, to say the least.
