Getting to Know Each Other

Over the next year, Crotts and her daughter spend time together, getting to know each other mostly via text. Even though their relationship has developed slowly, Crotts is extremely thankful that she’s able to talk to her, at least. What’s more, she couldn’t be happier, and she’s just glad her daughter is making an effort to get to meet her.

“I have allowed her to decide how much contact she desires, at this time. My heart is filled to the brim with love, pride, and gratitude for my little butterfly,” Crotts said. “‘ I guess I will be seeing you on Tuesday.’ The text pinged my phone, from my little butterfly. I messaged back, as quickly as my fingers could type. ‘You will be?'”
