Meet a Female Spider-Man

Here’s a woman cosplaying as a female Spider-Man, a character who exists in the Marvel Universe. Yes, there are several female versions of Spider-Man, the most famous being Spider-Woman, also known as Jessica Drew, and Spider-Gwen, known as Gwen Stacy. These characters have unique backgrounds and powers.

Jessica Drew, or Spider-Woman, first appeared in “Marvel Spotlight” #32 in 1977 and has starred in numerous comics, animated series, and even video games. Gwen Stacy, as Spider-Gwen, comes from an alternate universe where she gets bitten by the radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. She debuted in “Edge of Spider-Verse” #2 in 2014 and has quickly become a fan favorite.
