In essence, Mason wanted to have the separation settlement renegotiated in light of his diagnosis and the DNA test. Meanwhile, he was also seeking damages from Kate for the paternity fraud she had allegedly perpetrated for over 20 years.
Eventually, the two managed to settle out of court for a reported $325,000 from the separation lump sum Mason had initially given. However, although Mason scored a legal win, albeit a minor one, nothing comes without a price.
