As stated, the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles quickly became the most-watched television program of all time, and remains so today. Afterward, numerous outlets worldwide called the ceremony “the wedding of the century” and the greatest of all royal weddings.

There’s a very good reason for this: at this point in time, Britain had been hit hard by an economic crisis. As a result, the country had a depressive parlor fall over it. However, the story of Diana and Charles broke through as something of a fairy tale. It was a source of light in the dark. Of course, it wouldn’t last. These days, the media coverage of Diana’s weddings has now turned negative, after her passing. Sadly, this is something that would continue for decades to come…
