Middleton and Markle followed in the royal wedding footsteps of Princess Diana in many ways, but not with their dresses. While the Duchesses went simple, Diana wore a ruffled taffeta dress, made out of ivory silk, looking like something from the ending of a Disney movie.
Back in 1981, British fashion designers David and Elizabeth Manuel earned the daunting task of designing Diana’s wedding dress. Elizabeth stated that it “had to be something that was going to go down in history” – it certainly did! But is it better than Markle and Middleton’s? Well, that’s up for you to decide!
