Things Fall Apart
Things really started to fall apart in Charles and Diana’s marriage after a phone call between the Prince and Camilla leaked. On the tape, while still married to Diana, Charles told Camilla, “The trouble is, I need you several times a week… I’ll just live inside your trousers or something. It would be much easier!” As you might imagine, this not only devastated Diana, but the country as a whole.
According to palace insiders, the affair not only broke Diana’s heart but also infuriated her. Apparently, she took to calling Camilla “the rottweiler” whenever Charles was not around. Then, after Charles and Diana separated, the Princess was free to say what she wanted…
