Of course, no one will ever forget Geoffrey Owens as the iconic Elvin Tibideaux, Sondra Huxtable’s husband, on the legendary sitcom The Cosby Show. Sadly, after the show ended in 1992, Owens found it harder and harder to find work. He would not make headlines again until much later, for totally different reasons…

In 2018, The Daily Mail posted a very offensive article about Owens’ then job as a cashier at Trader Joe’s Supermarket. Immediately calling the paper out for its “job shaming,” Owens explained he had not quit acting, but needed to keep busy and pay the bills. We can all agree there no shame in decent, honest work! But the story did help him earn a host of new roles, so there’s that!
