While many today don’t even remember the event, the 1991 marriage of supermodel Cindy Crawford and actor Richard Gere made all the tabloid headlines. But to the pair, it seemed the natural progression of their love. “We talked, then we had a date, then we had another date,” Crawford said just days before the wedding. However, later, the supermodel disavowed the entire Las Vegas event. “It wasn’t the wedding I dreamed of. It was so last minute,” she recalled.
The lousy wedding was an omen, it seems. Gere and Crawford went their separate ways in 1994. The actor married his current wife, Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva, in 2018. Meanwhile, Crawford tied the knot to businessman Rande Gerber in 1998, and they remain happily wed today.
