Tom Cruise and Mimi Rogers

We’ll admit: these days, it’s hard to remember all of actor Tom Cruise’s romances. For those that forgot, Cruise met actress Mimi Rogers on the set of the hit 1986 movie Top Gun. As Rogers recalls, they met through friends on the set. “I wasn’t seeing anybody, he wasn’t seeing anybody, and they thought, ‘These people should be going out with somebody — let’s see if they want to go out with each other,'” she said afterward. A few dates eventually led to a wedding just a year later, in 1987.

Unfortunately, after three years of marriage, Cruise and Rogers separated in 1990. However, it didn’t hurt the career of either actor. Cruise continued to A-list stardom, while Rogers continues to enjoy a very successful television career. While today, Cruise flies solo, Rodgers married producer Christopher Ciaffa in 2003 and remains so today.
