The Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother ruled as the Queen of the United Kigfom from 1936 to 1952, as the wife of King George VI. She was also the last Empress of India from 1936, when India became independent. Following the death of her husband, she became known as Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, to avoid confusion with her daughter, Queen Elizabeth II.
Of course, Queen Elizabeth II has become one of the most iconic monarchs in the world, after taking over the throne in 1952. Just like her mother, Queen Elizabeth II has remained incredibly popular and does so today.
