Gandalf Guards Academic Integrity
When a teacher discovered a student’s paper was a complete copy from another source, they decided to deliver the verdict with a flair of fantasy. Channeling the spirit of Gandalf from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings,” a wizard known for his wisdom and powerful magic, the teacher used his iconic silhouette to make a statement.
On the student’s paper, next to the copied text, was the silhouette of Gandalf with the message “You Shall Not Pass!”—a famous line from the story where Gandalf confronts a mighty foe. This humorous yet stern response addressed the issue of plagiarism fittingly, considering Gandalf’s role as a protector of the realms.
