Pride and Prejudice: The Rubber Boots

This 2005 romantic drama is based on the classic novel by Jane Austen which was published in 1813. When reading the novel, it gives you the opportunity to imagine the characters as well as their costumes and really have your own sense of time and place set in your mind, something which is part of the beauty in reading books.

In the film version, however, Lizzie, played by actress Keira Knightley, wears Wellies, also known as the rubber Wellington boots. Rubber boots, however, as we wear them today were not invented until four decades later, causing a major wardrobe malfunction!
