All Kinds of Moves at Studio 54 Amused Partygoers
It’s the late 1970s, disco fever is at its peak, and Studio 54 is the place to be. This iconic club, originally the Gallo Opera House built in 1927 and later the New Yorker Theatre in 1930, became a haven for glitz and glamor. According to Spotlight on Broadway, this house was initially created to rival the famed Metropolitan House. CBS, having used it for popular TV shows like “The Johnny Carson Show” since 1942, sold it, setting the stage for its transformation into the ultimate disco-era nightclub.
