Growing up in the landlocked state of Wisconsin, young Brandi Mueller has been obsessed with both the ocean and photography. As a child, she always begged her parents for vacations to the sea and, by the time she turned 15, Mueller had already become an accomplished diver. “I learned how to scuba dive in New Zealand when I was 15 as a foreign exchange student (the travel bug hit me early),” Mueller recently recalled.

Like so many other explorers, Mueller always wanted to make a massive discovery. Little did she know, that day would come much, much sooner than she ever expected…
