Early Visitors

Of course, we have no idea exactly which human first laid eyes on Niagara Falls. It’s been known since before the written word. However, one thing’s for sure: the first person to witness the Falls’ might must have been totally awestruck by its power. After all, they stand a towering 167 feet, with over 85,000 cubic feet pouring over every second. That’s 170,000 toilets flushing at the same time – every second!
You can see how Niagara Falls quickly became a massive tourist destination. While looking on, many wondered if the falls held a treasure or archeological discovery. Those imaginative ideas were closer to the truth than anyone knew.
