Keep Your Food Fresh

One of the biggest challenges travelers face while camping is keeping food fresh while in the middle of nowhere. After all, there’s no electricity for freezers, and coolers usually just end up wasting ice. Thankfully, there are a few ways to make your ice go the extra mile and work just a little bit harder for you.
First, instead of freezing individual ice cubes, why not freeze whole gallons of water? Next, add a little bit of salt to your water before freezing it. As covered in an episode of Mythbusters, this will make your ice melt slower over time, as will making it one giant ice cube! And if it melts, you’d still have some fresh water to drink. Win-win!
