Paul Burke – Alia Shawkat

You likely know beloved comedic actress Alia Shawkat from her roles on hit television shows like Arrested Development, State of Grace, and Search Party. While watching her performances, if her distinct grin looked familiar, there’s a very good reason – she’s the granddaughter of famed actor Paul Burke. And she certainly inherited his trademark sly smile! Burke became a star actor in the 60s, on shows like Naked City and Twelve O’clock High.

Sadly, Burke passed away in 2009, after a long battle with non-Hopkins lymphoma and leukemia. Thankfully, Shawkat continues to make her grandfather proud with her outstanding career. Currently, fans can catch her on AMC’s animated comedy, Ultra City Smiths.
