Ricki Lake – 130 Pounds

Ricki Lake got her start as the large-but-proud character Tracy Turnblad in John Waters’ 1988 cult-classic, Hairspray. Afterward, Lake hosted her iconic, or infamous depending on who you ask, self-titled talk show. The show, which featured extreme guests, paved the way for the likes of Dr. Phil.

While Lake played someone proud of their weight in Hairspray, behind the scenes was another story. Lake suffered from eating disorders for years before attempting to lose weight. However, she’s an inspiration, having lost over 130 pounds now! “To have almost 130 pounds on top, I mean, almost twice what I weigh, I can’t fathom what that feels like today,” Lake told ABC News. “Being a size 6 feels better than being a size 24.”
