Colin Firth and Livia Giuggioli – 24 Years Together

Actor Colin Firth and Italian director Livia Giuggioli first met in 1997 while on the set of the film Nostromo. Unfortunately, Giuggioli’s English was weak, and Firth didn’t speak a word of Italian. However, Firth was smitten with her nonetheless, and so learned Italian to win her over!

Since then, the couple has welcomed two boys, Luca and Matteo, and split their lives between London and Umbria. After they tied the knot in 1999, Firth took on a role that strangely mimicked his own relationship. In the romantic-comedy hit Love, Actually he plays an Englishman who falls deeply in love with a young Portuguese woman and must overcome a language barrier!
