Joe Biden and Jill Jacobs  – Together Since 1977

Jill and Joe Biden’s love story began on a blind date in March 1975, orchestrated by Joe’s brother. Despite an age difference and Jill’s ongoing divorce, their connection was undeniable. Jill, an English graduate from the University of Delaware, balanced her teaching career with work in Joe’s Senate office.

The couple wed on June 17, 1977, in a private ceremony at the United Nations Chapel in New York City, four and a half years after Joe lost his first wife and daughter in an accident. Embracing her new life, Jill played a pivotal role in raising Joe’s sons, Beau and Hunter, and became an integral part of their family.
