Actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones were both hard at work on film promotion tours in 1996. At the time, Douglas was promoting A Perfect Murder, while Zeta-Jones was promoting The Mask of Zorro, the movie that made her a household name. That summer, the two met at the Deauville Film Festival through fellow star and actor Danny DeVito. While young Zeta-Jones was a little star-struck when the couple first met, the spark was undeniable.
