JaMarcus Russell, Oakland Raiders – Job Loss

JaMarcus Russell began his career playing college football for the LSU Tigers, before moving on to a stellar NFL career. In 2007, he was both selected by the Oakland Raiders as their first overall pick and earned the MVP title at the Super Bowl. Following his Super Bowl win, Russell inked a long-term, $61 million contracts with the Raiders. Everything pointed towards Russell enjoying a bright future!
However, starting in his second season, Russell revealed himself not to be a dependable player, nothing more than a spark in the pan. Sadly, after spending two years with the Raiders, the team let him go. Eventually, as Russell found it difficult to find a new job, he ran out of cash. Sadly, the now jobless star is often ranked as one of the biggest busts in NFL history. Ouch!
