George W. Bush and Laura Bush – Together Since 1977

In 1977, Laura and George W. Bush’s paths crossed in Midland, Texas, igniting a romance that quickly flourished. Their initial meeting, orchestrated through friends, revealed a mutual attraction—Laura was captivated by George’s lively conversation, while he was struck by her elegance. This connection led to George proposing at Laura’s Austin home, just a few months into dating.

They exchanged vows in November  of the same year, in the very church where Laura was baptized. The wedding, marked by simplicity with Laura choosing an off-the-rack dress, culminated in a honeymoon in Cozumel, Mexico. For Laura, marrying George meant not just finding a partner but also gaining a loving extended family.
