After 16 years, former Daily Show host Jon Stewart retired from the desk at Comedy Central. Following that, he decided to spend more time at home. So, along with his wife, author Tracey Stewart, they turned their 45-acre property and farmhouse into an animal sanctuary to rescue abused animals from the factory farm system. That’s right!
The farm sits 50 miles outside of New York City, so Stewart can head in for the occasional comedy gig whenever he wants. Meanwhile, the former TV host says that living on a farm has turned him into a bonified animal lover. “I was so angry at animals until I met Tracey,” said Stewart. “And she said, ‘no, they’re quite pleasant.'”
