The movie, based on Vladimir Nabokov’s novel, was controversial, to say the least.

When “Lolita” premiered, Sue was just 15, not old enough to watch her own movie, but that didn’t stop her from becoming an overnight sensation. Her career took off with this role, followed by performances in “The Night of the Iguana” and “Seven Women.”
