A Note
As Faix’s daughter walked up to her, the mother realized that she was holding a card. As you might imagine, Faix felt very confused. “Why is my daughter giving me a pretty card before a race,” she wondered. But, when she read the handwritten note inside, Faix instantly understood everything, and her eyes filled with tears.
Inside the card, Strawn had written: “It’s been 13,075 days since you last saw me. I didn’t want to make you wait 1 more. Steve.” As a shocked and crying Faix turned around, she saw her long-lost son standing right there in front of her…
