Sidney Poitier – 93-Years-Old, $25 Million Net Worth
In the 60s, a time where black actors where trying to forge their way into Hollywood, Sidney Poitier was one of the first to break out of the stereotypical roles for men of his color. Along the way, Poitier also became the first black male actor to win an Academy Award for his outstanding performance in the 1965 drama Lilies of the Field.
After that, Poitier continued to enjoy massive success by starring in classics like To Sir, With Love, Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, and In the Heat of the Night, just to mention a few. For his significant contributions to his home country, The Bahamas honored him by making him Ambassador to Japan from 1997 to 2007. What’s more, he also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
