Drew Barrymore and John Barrymore

Like many child stars, Drew Barrymore had a famous parent, her father, actor John Barrymore. In fact, they come from a long line of actors and actresses! John began his acting career with a small role in The Sundowners back in 1950. Then, he moved on to television, guest-starring on shows like Schlitz Playhouse and The 20th Century-Fox Hour.

“Having a very public experience when I was young taught me a lot about responsibility in a weird way,” Drew shared. “It definitely gave me a wake-up call of, like, OK, if everyone’s gonna know your business, maybe you’d like your business to be really classy. And that’s a hard lesson, but it was a very good lesson for me.”
