Denzel and Pauletta Washington – 43 Years Together
Denzel and Pauletta Washington first met each other on the set of 1977 TV biopic Wilma, Denzel’s first on-screen appearance. While Pauletta played Olympic athlete Mae Faggs, Denzel portrayed her competitor’s fiancé. However, in real life, both felt an immediate connection towards one another. Still, they dated for years before marrying in 1983. Then, in 1995, the couple decided to renew their vows with none other than Archbishop Desmond Tutu in South Africa.
Today, the Washingtons have four children: John, Katia, and twins Malcolm and Olivia. In addition to building a family together, the couple also does philanthropic work together, raising money for important causes like The Boys And Girls Group.
Snoop Dogg and Shante Taylor – 31 Years Together
Another pair of high school sweethearts, rapper Snoop Dogg met his wife Shante Taylor while at Long Beach Polytechnic High School. They even went to prom together, as you can see! While the pair called it quits once after marrying in the 90s, they could not stay apart for long. In 2008, Snoop and Taylor married for the second time.
In 2013, Snoop admitted to his mistakes, while gushing about his wife, saying: “Because you gotta understand the turmoil and stuff that I put her through, in my journey on becoming successful, because I had no understanding of how I was doing her, how I was hurting her, and how I was betraying myself, until I became a man and realized that I had to love this woman who loved me and had my kids, and put my life in perspective and let my music and my business be secondary.”
