Here’s a little known Hollywood tale: iconic actress Shirley MacLaine actually began her entertainment career as a ballet dancer. However, MacLaine soon realized that ballet dancing was simply too harsh on her body after suffering several injuries. Thankfully, a Paramount producer noticed her talents and gave her a break in acting, with the Trouble with Harry back 1955.
From there, the rest, as they say, was history! MacLaine went on to become the winner of a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year. Later on, her career blossomed once again after winning an Academy Award for Best Actress for the film Terms of Endearment.
